Tour Guide Tried (and Failed) to Entertain Us: We Only Wanted a Tour

This was the only one of dozens of walking tours I have taken throughout Europe that I truly disliked. It is Paris – how could someone mess up so badly?

Tell stupid jokes about your personal life and try to engage an audience of 35 people who want to hear about Paris – what they came to see. Tour guide wrote a “Script” so bad that even Jimmy Fallon could not deliver it well; she wasn’t funny, engaging or entertaining. But that is fine – no one is expecting comedy and connection – we brought our family for that. We came to hear about Paris – what is this we are looking at and why is it significant? It was a waste of 2.5 hours I regret not just leaving and finding another tour. Low moments included idiotic multiple choice questions, quips about her husband and a 23 minute break in 150 minute tour. No no no.
